Apple MacBook Pro 2021 is now available to pre-order in India starting at Rs 1,94,900

Read on to find out the pricing and specifications of the new 2021 Apple MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 currently available to pre-order in India.

Apple had announced the all new MacBook Pro 2021 on the 18th October 2021 and it will be available to ship from 29th October 2021 from Apple online Store and from 30th October 2021 from Amazon Store. However, if you would like to be one of the first to grab one, it is worth noting that Amazon will likely deliver faster since those are pre-configured laptops while on the Apple store you get to customize the laptops to your liking.

The new MacBook Pros have undergone a major redesign in every regard. The display now uses a Mini LED panel to offer impressive contrasts of a million:1 and a peak brightness of 1600 nits for a true HDR Experience (or XDR as Apple calls it). The MacBooks also finally receive the high refresh rate treatment with the ProMotion Feature (120hz) to make the entire user experience more fluid and responsive. The performance to no one's surprise is the fastest performance on a MacBook ever. However, the performance improvements this time are significant over the previous generations. Scroll below for some benchmarks from Apple. The other notable improvements include, removing the controversial touch bar, bringing back the function buttons and ports and finally a notch, for better or worse. While the notch may not be appealing to all, it does help in minimizing the bezels to a bare minimum.

Performance Benchmarks

CPU Processing - M1 Max 10 Core CPU and M1 Pro 10 Core CPU (both offer the same CPU)

Xcode - With 2.1x faster build times as compared to 8 core Intel i9 CPU, M1 Max is nothing short of impressive considering its efficient power draw and fewer core count.

NASA TetrUSS - 3x faster computation as compared to 8 core Intel i9 CPU

Logic Pro - 1.7x faster performance as compared to 8 core Intel i9 CPU

Vectorworks - 2.1x faster publish performance as compared to 8 core Intel i9 CPU

Affinity photo - 1.7x faster multi-core vector performance as compared to 8 core Intel i9 CPU

Graphics Processing - M1 Max 32 Core GPU

Maxon Cinema 4D - With 4x faster graphics performance as compared to the RX5600M with 8GB HBM2, the Apple's in-house built M1 Max seems to perform impressively well yet again.

Affinity photo - 4.5x performance as compared to RX5600M 8 GB HBM2

Final Cut Pro - 2.9x performance as compared to RX5600M 8 GB HBM2

Adobe Photoshop - 2.1x performance as compared to RX5600M 8 GB HBM2

DaVinci Resolve Studio - 1.9x performance as compared to RX5600M 8 GB HBM2

Should you get this?

As for should you get this, here is what we think. From what we have seen so far, the Pro in the MacBook Pro is meant exactly for Professionals. So if you are a professional working in a field that benefits from extreme computational performance, this could be for you. That includes, designers, movie makers, audio producers, content creators etc. If you are already tied to the Apple Ecosystem and use applications that are optimized for the Mac OS or the Apple M1 CPU/GPU, then this could be of great value to your workflow.

If you are open to windows based alternatives, you could find other options such as the Legion 7 from Lenovo which may not offer as much of a professional appeal on the outside but has some serious performance on the inside.
